ORIGINAL PRESSING – DORE LP 101

This auction is for an original pressing of the 1st Jan & Dean album issued on Dore Records.  This album features the original thick cover with a  light gloss coating, and is in nice condition, with the cover showing only a few flaws, with the vinyl in nice condition with much of it’s original gloss and some surface wear from play, but some chipping at one part of the edge of the vinyl that does not affect play.  While not mint, this is a great example of a rare record that will make a great addition to a collection.

The pictures tell a lot with care given to point out both the key condition aspects of this album, and my examination and condition observations of this record are noted as follows:

• Cover – overall shows very well.  Some original cover gloss remains.  There is about a half inch seam split on the top right, and a long seam split on the bottom that is partially taped.   Additionally there is about 4 inches of fraying on the left edge, but no tears.  The back cover shows the tape at the bottom but otherwise is nice condition, just showing some wear from the over 50 years of age, but there are not other major flaws such as ink, splits, or anything else I can find.
• Vinyl – this record reflect some play, but sounds very good.  I can hear minimal surface noise but overall this album plays well there are no skips.  The gloss on this record is great and some surface scratches are evident that have only a minimal affect on play.  As mentioned above there is some chipping on the edge that does not affect play  Please refer to the pictures below for a representation of the vinyl and a close-up of the most significant mark in the vinyl.
• Label – Very clean on both sides with a bit of spindle wear.

All in all, this is a very nice example of this historic recording.  While it is clearly not mint, the record has been well cared for and will be carefully shipped in a well protected record shipper shipper.  Shipping is via USPS Media Mail or Priority Mail, at the buyer’s choice (Priority mail is a lot faster and is highly recommended!!).
