Jane's Addiction's self-titled debut album, released in 1987, showcased their daring fusion of modern rock, prog rock, and heavy metal. While it was an intriguing release for its time, it was their subsequent major-label album, Nothing's Shocking, that truly solidified their status as pioneers. Produced by Dave Jerden and the band's enigmatic vocalist Perry Farrell, this album displayed a heightened focus and a greater sonic impact than its predecessor. The band's fiery performances often teetered on the edge of collapse, resulting in a breathtaking musical tension.
Tracks like "Up the Beach," "Ocean Size," and the iconic alt-rock anthem "Mountain Song" encapsulate the expansive soundscape influenced by their two major inspirations, Led Zeppelin and The Cure. Meanwhile, "Ted, Just Admit It..." I COULD NOT FIND ANY MARKS ON THE VINYL AT ALL. I DID PLAY TEST THIS LP. THE SOUND IS NICE AND QUIET WHEN YOU FIRST PLACE THE NEEDLE DOWN. NO ‘SCRATCHY’ NOISE IN QUIET PARTS. THE FORMER OWNER KEPT THIS LP IN A VERY NICE V.R.P. INNER SLEEVE (VERY SIMILAR TO THE MOFI INNER SLEEVES), WHICH MAY ACCOUNT FOR HOW THE VINYL HAS KEPT IT’S QUALITY.
THE COVER IS VG+ FOR SOME LIGHT CREASING AND SOME VERY LIGHT RING-WEAR.
