Description

Janis Joplin live double album with Full Tilt Boogie Band "Get it While You Can". This is an ultra rare, privately produced, recording of the Concert held (I believe) at the Honolulu International Centre Arena on 6th July 1970. I bought this new in the early 1970's at the Virgin Record Shop in New Street, Birmingham. The double cover is plain white except for the single sheet on the front. The records both have on one side the "Rich Records label" and on the other side the "Linda Records label". They are numbered "740 - A&B" and "741 A&B". The recording features the famous "Rap" that Joplin gave the audience between tracks including promising to pay for any damage caused to the venue! This has been played only a dozen or so times and is in about the condition I bought it new in. The sleeve has minor marks from me carting it about for 40+ years but still near excellent. The records are also in excellent condition, same minor marks from pressing etc. that where there from new. This is a privately produced and pressed record and so is in Mono and the production and recording quality are not as high as a mass produced item. It sounds great, the live feel and lack of editing give it a real edge.
