Description
- The double live album "In Concert" by Janis Joplin was released on Columbia Records in 1972. Janice died in October 1970, just a few months before the release of her breakthrough solo album "Pearl" which spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the charts. It was followed by this live compilation which includes one disc from concerts with Big Brother & The Holding Company and one where she is backed by the Full Tilt Boogie Band.
- This is an extremely rare Brand New copy of (C2X31160) from the First Pressing in 1972 and is still Sealed in its Original Factory Shrink Wrap. (Note the small tear in the lower back right corner shrink where the price code of X798 is printed.) Please see the pictures of this Mint Condition and unopened copy, but note that the photos of the disc labels and inner gatefold are from another copy. It was mastered for CBS by Customatrix and was most likely pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. It is possible, however, that it was pressed at the Columbia plant in Pitman, N.J. or in Terre Haute, Ind. but it's impossible to tell for sure without opening it and looking at the dead wax.
- In addition to its original sealed packaging, this album will come with a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright and Unopened on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years.
- Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
