Description

I had the honor and pleasure of interviewing Janos Starker for a classical music radio program a few decades ago. He was gracious and insightful. Maestro Starker spoke about his masterful performances of this landmark set of Bach Solo Cello recordings that he made for Mercury. They truly are musical treasures and he remembered his recording sessions for these records very well and enjoyed the project.


Over the years, I found myself with two copies of this remarkable set of Starker/Bach records and have finally decided to part with one of these sets.


This set is on the original Mercury label and features three records in one box. The stamper number is  RFR-1 on Record 1, RFR-2 on Record 2, and SR 90447 on Record 3, which I understand is the second pressing of these highly-collectable recordings.


This is a NM condition collection of vinyl records. They appear to be unplayed. In fact, I never got around to playing these recordings on my turntable since I owned another set that I would listen to. There is a small scratch on side 3 "Gigue" Movement that results in a small tick that does not affect play, so we are grading these as Near Mint.
