Description

Presenting a fabulous jazz gem by trombonist Jay Jay Johnson on 12 inch Blue Note 1605 from the 1950s.  It is Volume 1, entitled,  "The Eminent Jay Jay Johnson”.   This is a mono issue, with an address of 767 Lexington Avenue NYC on the label and the letters RVG and the "ear" symbol etched in the dead wax area.

To complete the quintet, Jay Jay is assisted by Clifford Brown, Charlie Mingus, Kenny Clarke and John Lewis.

The album cover is in very nice condition.  There is a split in the middle of the sleeve left that is about 1.5 inches long and a slight loss of seam paper on the lower right corner.  An extremely subtle ink mark is located on the lower right reverse.   The disc itself is quite clean and glossy, with just a handful of short, fine scratches visible only under very good light.   I have played the album on both sides and it sounds great.   To sum up, I rate the cover and disc as Very Good + (Goldmine).

Please be sure to look at all 3 of our photos below.  We are record collectors ourselves and will package this record very carefully so it arrives in your hands in the same condition as it left ours.  Bid with confidence!
