Description
We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
A rare 10" 1956 1st Press copy of Jay Jay Johnson - The Eminent Jay Jay Johnson Vol. 2 released on the English Pink & White Vogue Records label. Ultrasonically cleaned, the vinyl has retained a good gloss with a couple of faint hairlines visible but nothing remotely feelable. It sits flat on the turntable with clean labels & spindle holes - graded VG+.
This veteran record was fun to playtest! A really fabulous, lively & upbeat sound with some low background noise in a few places but no jumping or sticking - the vinyl plays through as it should.
The outer laminate sleeve is solid overall with a few creases but no splits, writing, tears or ugly tape repairs.
The original paper inner sleeve is present, although torn, but still doing its job some 69 years on....!
The record will be sent separated out in an archival outer sleeve to prevent transit splits.
