JAY JAY JOHNSON The Eminent Volume 1 & Volume 2 (Blue Note 1505/1506) RVG US 1st Pressing MINT-
RARE original US first pressing of Jay Jay Johnson`s two album set "The Eminent Jay Jay Johnson", issued on Blue Note Records (1955). Both volumes on sale here are the original US first pressings. Both have the appropriate "RVG" (Rudy van Gelder) and "ear" stampers in the run-off grooves, as well as the Blue Note Records address given as "161 Lexington Ave NYC" on the record labels.
Please note that Volumes 1 & 2 are for sale as a two-album set only, as originally intended.

GRADING:

Volume 1: EX+ COVER. Unlaminated sleeve with a bit of general storage wear. Please see the photos for details.
- Slight partial dulling to the front cover.
- Small scuffed area (at bottom center) with adjacent scratch.
- Very clean back cover with two small crosses (in black ink) next to track list.
- Also includes the original custom-printed Blue Note Records inner sleeve in EX+ condition, with a small seam split (on one side only).

Volume 2: EX+(+) COVER. Unlaminated sleeve with slight general storage wear. Please see the photos for details.
- Slight partial dulling to the front cover.
- Very clean back cover with three small crosses (in black ink) next to track list.
- Also includes a heavy transparent plastic inner sleeve in MINT- condition.

Volume 1: EX++ RECORD with minimal signs of previous play.
- A few light hairlines form sleeve removal only.
- Visually, the record has very regular, recurring little "clouds" that obviously stem from the production process.
- Slight superficial crackle in between tracks.
- The Blue Note label on Side One has no spindle wear whatsoever, while Side two has a few superficial spindle lines.
- Matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read as "BN-LP-1505-A" and "BN-LP-1505-B" with "RVG" and "ear" logos, as well as the suffix "9 M" on both sides.

Volume 2: MINT(-) RECORD with barely any sign of previous play at all!
- Visually, the record looks to be in practically unplayed condition.
- Perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction.
- Near-untouched Blue Note labels, with a single, almost invisible spindle line on Side One.
- Matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read as "BN-LP-1506-A" and "BN-LP-1506-B" with "RVG" and "ear" logos, as well as the suffix "9 M" on both sides.
