Jazz al Capolinea
Italian private pressing, Jii 1 (1974)
Top rare private press double Lp, a very important document about the first Italian jazz meeting at the Giorgio Vanni's "Capolinea" club in Milan. Superbly clean and perfect sound quality recording of the top of 70's Italian jazz scene.
Features two very long and fantastic jazz funk tracks (more than 14 minutes each!) by the Sante Palumbo group: Killer Marc Moulin's Placebo crispy Fender rhodes over a very funky rhythm by the great Tullio De Piscopo providing some insane down-tempo and furious drum breaks!
Incredibly good jazz funk by the Giorgio Azzolini quintet on the amazing "Summit soul" and on the very funky "Spanish portrait" (10'45" long), and actually, alternative versions from his impossible to find "Spanish portrait" Lp!
Other trax, include the superb "Eruzione" by the Mario Rusca Trio, "Et Maintenant" by the Sergio Fanni quartet, Gianni Coscia quintet, Claudio Benedetti quartet and so on...
Every sleeve is different, records are housed in an ORIGINAL raw gatefold sleeve. This must be a mistake copy since the home made "JAZZ" writing on front is missing!
