JAZZ AT VILLANOVA "The Fourth Annual INTERCOLLEGIATE JAZZ FESTIVAL" Feb. 7, 1964. Saxony SRLP 110. Compilation LP from Villanova University outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. College jazz festival featuring various big bands and combos including Bill Barnwell Quintet, Dick Durham Trio, vocalist Jan LaFave.
Front cover blurb by Stan Kenton. Back cover photo of Buddy DeFranco presenting a LeBlanc clarinet to Best Reed Player. Kenton and DeFranco do not play on this record.
DISC is VG(+). Surface marks, do not affect play. Light background noise. Heavy platter.
LABELS are clean.
COVER is VG(-). Cover is reversed from normal. What appears to be the front cover with JAZZ AT VILLANOVA lettering has the LP opening to the left side instead of to the usual right side. Seam splits (most of top and bottom seams are split - spine is not split); cover wear; corners bumped; some discoloration spots; name on front cover.
Record will be packaged in new polyethylene sleeve with disc in paper sleeve outside of cover, and will be shipped in 13x13x2 Uline mailer (200 lb. test) with 13" x 13" filler pads to avoid edge/corner bumping.
