This unique lot is for 7(seven) studio acetates/test lacquers, all by Buster(brother of Bennie) Moten some 2-sided, some issued, some not. There is no peeling and all appear stable. One has a reinforced crack. All the band sides have solo work!
Look carefully at the labels for more info, takes, etc.
1. 12/23/48 Omaha, NE On The Gravy Train(voice & piano-slow tempo warmup played straight)/When You Want Chile(rejected) Condition: E+/Poor cuts across surface...wil play but of course noisy
2. 12/23/48 Omaha, NE Keep It Clean(2 nice piano boogie breaks / When You Want Chili(straight break) Condition: E
3. KC, MO, Damon Transcription Jump Stick / Just Foolin' Around (2 SUPERB UPTEMPO Boogie stride piano instrumentals!) Condition: EE+ Cracked/Reinforced as luck would have it! I believe this is earlier.
4. KC, MO Damon(later?) On The Gravy Train / You'll Wind Up On Top(Band-tpt, drums, elec guitar, sax) Nice Jump Blues versions poss? issued Capitol? Condition: EE+
5. Damon When You Want Chili / It's Hard To Laugh Or Smile(Mid tempo R&B with same small band) Condition: EE+
6. Damon I've Got A Good Reason(R&B vocal w/pno, drums, sax, tpt-nice)/Gone vcl w.organ. EE+
7. Damon Ain't Gonna Give You None Of My Jellyroll(pno, drums, tpt, sax-nice)/ Sugar Daddy Blues-vcl w/organ.
A slash grade(E/E-) indicates the second side is E-
A VV+ grade indicates the record is between V and V+
Many 78's are hearable on youtube...
Grading is visual using VJM definitions(VJM.BIZ)-the worldwide standard for grading 78RPM records.
