Description
Recorded September 10, 1957 at Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, NJ and released by Regent Records, a small and somewhat obscure NJ subsidiary of Savoy Records. Leader John Jenkins assembled Donald Byrd, Curtis Fuller, Tommy Flanagan, Doug Watkins and Art Taylor for this outstanding session.
This an original Regent 6065 “Red” label LP with the jacket and runout copy that matches the 1957 Regent 6056 “Green” label first pressing It appears that these are the only two Regent pressings released in 1957. Reissues from CBS/Sony and Savoy start in 1974. Photos show the condition and details of the actual items.
