Description

JAZZ MESSENGERS “At The Café Bohemia, Vol 2” RVG, P, FR, LEX, Blue Note BLP 1508 Mono Vinyl

This is 1955, first edition, “RVG” etched, Flat Rim, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of JAZZ MESSENGERS “At The Café Bohemia, Vol 2” on the "767 Lexington Ave” labels of Blue Note BLP 1508. Musicians include Art Blakey — drums, Kenny Dorham — trumpet, Hank Mobley — tenor saxophone, Horace Silver — piano, Doug Watkins — basses.

FLAT RIM VINYL plays with consistent low-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. But ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong with clean transients, and full tone. No distortion. Very good gloss. Super clean, a couple non feelable hairline marks. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “767 Lexington Ave” labels are clean, wear, with spindle marks. See photos.

FRAME COVER is in good shape. Corners worn. Seams and spine mostly clean, some cracking. Small splits at jacket opening.  See photos. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21” back jacket shows wear, aging. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
