Strata- East Records was one of the pioneering labels in independent jazz in the USA in the 1970's. Started by musicians Charles Tolliver and Stanley Cowell the label acted as an umbrella for self financed recordings by some incredible jazz musicians. Artists such as Clifford Jordan , Harold Vick, Weldon Irvine, Cecil Mcbee made some of their finest recordings on this label. Creative musicians were given the musical freedom to explore new areas of jazz music leading to spiritual music on the highest plane.

RECORD GRADING
Here is how I have graded the records.

M : Mint - Probably never been played and most likely shrink wrapped wherever appropriate.
EX: Excellent - Most like been played but in perfect condition and will have very little evidence of this and certainly no marks. Sound quality will be as new.
VG++ : Very Good++ Will have no marks on the sleeve nor label and will play without any reduced sound quality from new.
VG+ : Very Good+ Will have visible marks on the record but these will not be significant and the record will play without significant los in sound quality if any.
VG: Very Good - Possible reduction in sound quality and there will be scratch and or other surface marks that will be noticible when viewed.
G: Good - This record would have seen better days and will have noticeable loss of sound quality
P: Poor - Only purchase if you are looking for an alternative source of fuel and intend to make ash-trays.
