Description

An incredibly rare copy of this highly revered LP. It is not a promo or a test pressing but sample records pressed by JVC, the same company that pressed all the early Mobile Fidelity LP's. I purchased this set from the widow of the MFSL sales rep who covered southern California in the late 70's. That tells me that Mobile Fidelity must have been considering issuing this title but, for whatever reason, never did. They probably didn't think it would sell as well as all of the ho-hum titles they ultimately released. Sound quality is superb, truly audiophile quality but I must confess I've never heard a stock pressing played on my hifi system for a comparison. The discs have the original Proprius catalog numbers, 7778 and 7779, in the dead wax but feature the transparent virgin vinyl that MFSL became famous for. Vinyl surfaces are pristine and labels are spotless with only minimal spindle marks.
