Description

Absolutely beautiful copy of the New South LP by J.D. Crowe and his incredible band, featuring Tony Rice, Ricky Skaggs, Jerry Douglas, and Bobby Slone, on Rounder Records 0044. This is one of the masterpieces of all masterpieces in bluegrass and is easily one of the most important records of the genre. It made Tony Rice famous, as well as Ricky Skaggs and Jerry Douglas. These guys were the greatest players in bluegrass at the time and this record just oozes with the most incredible playing the bluegrass world has ever heard, before or since. Everyone is incredible, but this is really Tony Rice's album, as he sings all the songs and his guitar just leads the whole sound. Just incredible, and never matched by anyone after this. Anyhow this copy is just beautiful. Still in the shrinkwrap and almost perfectly mint. The disc plays flawlessly and the cover is nearly immaculate, with just a slight corner ding at the lower right and some very light edgewear along the open edge. A beautiful original copy.
