This unreleased & unheard Live recording of Jef Gilson A Gaveau 10' acetate is definitely more than just another collector record but an important document in the history of French jazz, a true ultimate piece of modern french jazz from 1965. The 10' starts with an uptempo version the now classic modal composition "Je Me Souviens Encore Du Grand Orchestre De Dizzy Gillespie En 1948" while on the B side you will hear a slightly different version of my favorite Gilson tune "Modalité pour mimi" with the great Nathan Davis on Sax, with Lubat, Thollot, Yvan Jullien, Sonny Grey. I didn't identify the 3rd track yet …
Surprisingly this acetate survives the years, with only a few harlines, only a click/pop during 20 s at the middle of the 3rd track. Serious jazz collectors don't sleep.

GRADDING Records are visually graded but I always put the actual soundclip to listen so you can judge by yourself.
Unless noticed, all samples come from actual records.
SS = Still Sealed (in perfect condition, no wear )
M = Mint (still in new condition, no imperfections, a Perfect Copy !)
M- = Near mint (imperceptible wear, full vinyl gloss)
EX = Excellent (only very slight wear and paper scuffs, vinyl still glossy with very rare noise)
VG++ = Near Excellent (light surface noise and wear but fairly minor, vinyl still plays nicely)
VG+ = Very Very Good (Evident groove wear or minor scuff marks, surface noise noticeable but does not really affect the playing)
VG = Very Good (Wear and scuffs are more evident and many surface noises are noticeable)
VG- = Good to Very Good (heavy groove wear or scuffing, plays noisily)
