Jeff Beck 'Truth' 1968 UK original vinyl album on the Columbia label, catalogue number SCX 6293 (stereo)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side One: YAX 3706-1 1 P Side Two: YAX 3707-1 1 M
This is a heavy vinyl and it is not warped. Both sides have quite a lot of short, light, surface scratches, most of which have probably been caused by movement in and out of the inner sleeve. On both sides there are three or four noticeable scratches but I cannot feel any of them. On Side One, about one third of the way through 'Morning Dew' there is a small mark I can feel, this causes about a dozen ticks as the stylus passes, but no sticks, no skips, no jumps. There is some light crackle now and again where it can be heard but overall the sound quality from this record is a quite brilliant excellent - obviously not overplayed.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have some spindle lines, not too many, a few vague age related handling marks, no writing, no damage.
The cover is a standard single sleeve, the front is coated by a clear laminate which goes over to some flaps on the back which is not coated in laminate. The front has a lot of small and medium creases at the edges and about ten semi circular creases towards the open edge. At the top seam there are some small scattered scratch marks which have pierced the laminate and there's also some fading at the open edge. The corners have rub wear right at the tips. The exposed back is really quite clean and tidy - it does have part of a ring mark that follows the outer edge of the record, some general rub wear, spotting and light discolouration from handling, but nothing unpleasant and it's really quite decent.
The spine is almost excellent, just a few small creases and a scuff on the 'e' of Jeff - it's still readable and very nice.
The inner sleeve is the original EMI advertising inner which is clean and tidy with just a small tear at the entry edge and some repairs to the seams but there're not very obvious.
I have checked the Recording Collector grading system and I would say that the cover is 'good' to 'very good' and the record is 'very good' with the audio being 'excellent' most of the time - it really is a great sound.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
