This is from my personal collection! Purchased over 40 years ago originally only played a few times and then stored with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection! This is how I have always stored my records! This is one of the original earliest 1st pressing so rare to ever find in this awesome condition! Released on the blue\black columbia labels  This copy is unique in that it was pressed from the original 1st masters look!! -1 -1 matrix endings and the audio is almost as good as it gets in my opinion, the audio was truly stunning on my system! Played at very loud volume on a top system using a dedicated mono cartridge the vibrancy and bassey feel blew me away. Any interfearence in the form of static crackle or tick was extreemely minimal and there was nothing that I heard that would detract from an audio grading of at least excellent plus in my opinion! Very near mint for the most part! A real collectable item! In my opinion one of Jeff Becks best ever albums, featuring many many all time great musicians which have had a true influence in my interest in music over the years !  Those who know the type of records that i collect and have sold on Ebay would realise that I am quite finatical about the audio quality, This album was pressed from the 1st masters and has '1' to '1' mothers, so would produce the best audio available for this issue in my opinion! (later press would sound very bland in comparison)!

Truth (1968) was the first full-length album by Jeff Beck and his backing group!!. Enjoying strong reviews upon its release, Truth is now widely regarded as one of the first heavy metal albums, due to its blending of hard rock and blues!

The album featured three original songwriting collaborations between Jeff Beck and singer Rod Stewart, "Let Me Love You", "Blues Deluxe", and "Rock My Plimsoul". Highlighted by a re-recording of the Yardbirds' "Shapes of Things", Willie Dixon's "I Ain't Superstitious" and the traditional "Greensleeves."

Guests include both guitarist Jimmy Page and keyboardist John Paul Jones on "Beck's Bolero", originally recorded in 1966 with Keith Moon on drums and Nicky Hopkins on piano, and released as the B side to Beck's first solo release, "Hi Ho Silver Lining" in 1967!

Tom Scholz of Boston has listed Truth as his favorite album, stating, "I knew Jeff Beck's Truth album inside and out''!!!!

I am going to give a very breif description when describing this album because in my opinion for a 37 year old item this is as good as it gets!!

The vinyl

The playing surface looks superb I can barely see a blemish at all. Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light would be very fine/minute surface marks/scratches or  sleeve remove and definately nothing that would cause any loud clicks or pops during the audio! Please note this has only ever been played by me personally a few times only in 40 years!

The Audio Quality

I have carefuly played this through track for track at very loud volume. importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge on a top system, prior to listing and the audio is truly awesome certainly (no) jumps or skips and no distortion or any signs that this has been over played at all! CRISTAL CLEAR AND SUPER, SUPER VIBRANT BASSEY FEEL ON ALL FREQUENCIES! TOP! TOP! AUDIO WILL BE HARD TO SURPASS (no) clicks or pops during the audio (no) distortion at all! This sounds awesome it has only ever been played by me a minimal amount of times only,, certainly not overplayed! Unbeleivable for an original, rarest 1st pressing that is 40 years old! This is clear and vibrant with, of course (no) signs of distortion or that this has been over played at all, just minor static crackle heard in isolated quiet places and between isolated tracks only! In my opinion this looks and plays Top! on all frequencies!  Audio graded at least excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion as usual when describing the audio quality.  Please allow for the odd isolated static/crackle/tick (not consistant throughout the audio) ! Please remember that this is an original 40 year old vinyl that has been played and would have originally been played on a 40 year old system and would benefit from a clean before each play!!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 40 years! From my experiance this vinyl would benefit from a constant clean before each play! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over a period of laying dormant, produces static crackle\ticks and constant cleaning reduces this static and subsequently enhances the audio quality!

The Labels

These are the original 1st issue Blue/Black Columbia labels with silver text. Features ''Sold In The UK ...'' text (only 1st press) in superbe condition. Just bare minimal spidering can just be seen (This has had very little play only) Little if no spindle ware, the hole is perfectly round!

The Cover

This is the Garrod & Lofthouse printed (Laminated front FLIPBACK) cover. super glossy laminate apearence. no main nasty creases to talk of, just light crease lines at the edges noticable if looked for. Also if looked for angled to the light ,slight ringware/rubbing can be seen but nothing too bad  (no) splits or tarese rear is clean, free of any nasty names written . Strong and straight as it should be. This cover is graded at least excellent if not better in my opinion!
