Description

JEFF BECK - TRUTH

A nice copy of this 1968 UK very 1st press Jeff Beck landmark album with the impressive MONO sound quality being a real highlight

Year/Label : 1968 UK COLUMBIA Label number : SX 6293 Matrix numbers : XAX 3706 - 1, XAX 3707 - 1 (on side 1 "XAX 3606" has been crossed out and on side 2 "3607" has been crossed out) Stampers :  1 0  / 1 A (the earliest stampers I have ever seen)
Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - completely flat and retaining an impressive jet black lacquered sheen, coming across as barely marked in normal daylight; with closer scrutiny under a bright light a number of wispy hairlines and faint paper scuff lines come into view on both sides, along with the occasional slightly more obvious scuff mark on side 1, indicating that this record has had a reasonable number of plays - nothing feelable and all appearing to be surface only and purely superficial (the excellent mono sound quality is testament to this).  The labels are in excellent (EX) condition - the only blemishes being some faint spindle trails mostly adjacent to the centre hole on each label.  A very good plus (VG+) condition front-side laminated and flipback Garrod & Lofthouse outer sleeve - the edges and spine remain firm with no scuffing at all and the rigid spine has all spine text perfectly intact. Each corner remains a well defined right angle with minimal rubbing only and on the reverse side each flipback remains in great shape. There is no cardboard creasing, the opening edges remain firm with no fraying, and there is no unwanted writing. The blemishes (each minor) are some small (2cm or less) laminate surface crinkles on the front side, x8 1cm laminate crinkles adjacent and perpendicular to the spine, and some light age related/storage/handling surface marks towards the edges (more so towards the top edge) on the reverse side. Do take a close look at my photos where i have attempted to portray a detailed and honest condition appraisal.  Truly excellent (EX) mono sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, or distortion, just the very occasional and very light random click (with no obvious causes) and background crackle is virtually non-existent. Every track makes for a great listen with Jeff Beck in tremendous form and Rod Stewart at the top of his game on vocals.  Comes with very good plus (VG+) condition original EMI advertising sleeve with no edge fraying, no unwanted writing, barely any creasing or discolouration, but there is a single 9cm split in the middle of one of the vertical edges. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    A highly collectable copy of this 1968 UK 1st press Jeff Beck classic on the revered "black and blue" Columbia label - the excellent mono sound quality is a real treat.
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £3.38 using Royal Mail tracked 48 (ebay "Simple Delivery");

for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 55 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy.
