Description
You won't find this record again in this condition. It's the rarest release on the UK Straight label. Although Jeff Simmons who was formerly with The Easy Chair released two albums on the US Straight label, this was the only one released in the UK. He arrived in Los Angeles in 1969 to be embraced by Frank Zappa who plays guitar on two tracks on this LP.
It's on the original Straight label and is entitled 'Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up'. It was released in 1970 and features some driving guitar and keyboards work with strong vocals.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is STS 1057.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is in fine condition with some minor wear and ring wear. The edges and spine are in fine condition but do show some very minor wear the wordinga along the spine is 90% readable. on the inside of the gatefold - 'Manufactured and distributed by CBS - CBS is a Trademark of Columbia Broadcasting System Inc. USA - Printed and made by the E. J. Day Group, London and Bedford'. I've graded the sleeve Ex-.
INNER BAG - Plain white paper diecut type.
RECORD - The record is in beautiful condition. It has been played a few times. There are some very light superficial marks on each side. It plays through well on both sides with some surface noise and some pops and clicks on both sides. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side. You just won't find a better copy.
LABELS - The labels are the traditional Straight pink type with black, white and orange/yellow wording. Around the circumference of the labels it states - 'All rights of the manufacturer and of the owner of the recorded work reserved. Unauthorised public performance, broadcasting and copying of this record prohibited'. There are minor spindle marks on both sides around the hole. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - STS-1057-A11 - side two - STS-1057-B1. I've graded the record as Ex++ which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
