Crown of Creation represents the high water mark of San Fransisco's Jefferson Airplane.More elegant, complex and cohesive than After Bathing at Baxters (although that is indeed a fine album)and simply having better songs and purpose than "Volunteers" this disc is a must have.

The thing that really seperated the Airplane from the rest was the fact that everyone in the band was exceptional at what they did (and I have still yet to hear a better, more original and more important bass player than Jack Casady) and all were at the top of their game at the same time, and this disc was recorded just before it all began to fall apart. Regal and majestic, instruments and voices present us with one of the most powerful documents of an era.A group of young people fired and inspired by the times they were living in producing an anthem for those times and ours.A time capsule of joy and wonder poisoned by the reality of the war in Vietnam and the war at home."

‘Crown of Creation’ was a title that proved to be prophetic for Jefferson Airplane in more ways than one. On one hand, this album really WAS their crown of creation and was widely acclaimed as their performing and creative peak; on the other, it was all downhill from here, and the band would never again approach the level of musical creativity and subversive political activism which they displayed on this album. The classic cover, of course, is an attention-grabber, and easily qualifies as one of the top-30 best covers of the Sixties - if not all time. The songs are: Lather - in Time - Triad (self-censored by the Byrds, this gorgeous, but somewhat sexually ambiguous ballad, found a safe harbor at Jefferson Airplane) - Star track - Share a little joke - Chusingura - If you feel - Crown of Creation - Ice Cream Phoenix - Greasy Heart - The House at Pooneil Corners.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire this great album in its FINEST audio format, no longer in print, and no longer easily obtainable.

(a)         WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)         The record comes in its original inner, hi-grade MFSL PVC inner sleeve.

(c)         In addition, the album comes with the original MFSL cardboard inner sleeve

(d)         The record is pressed on a beautiful, high-quality, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.

(e)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(f)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
