DESCRIPTION
Jefferson Airplane - “Jefferson Airplane Takes Off” RCA Records LPM-3584 (Mono) from 1966. Super Hard To Find Version 2 Mono Deep Groove pressing of this Classic debut Psych Rock album. This is the version with 11 songs - no “Runnin’ 'Round This World” - but with the “Sexy” Uncensored versions of “Let Me In” and “Run Around”. Also unique among Airplane albums in featuring Signe Toly Anderson and Skip Spence. Matrix Numbers: TPRM—0171-11S and TPRM-0172–2S. Black Deep Groove “Mono Dynagroove” Labels.

CONDITION

In really nice shape! The cover shows some very light basic Ring and Edge storage wear and some very slight corner softening. There is a name written on the top back in small (1/4” to 1/2”) letters. Very solid with no splits, tears, other writing, etc. and should easily rate at least a strong VG and probably really closer to VG+. The Vinyl itself is also in nice condition. There are some slight sleeve scuffs and a couple of small hairlines but nothing that would qualify as an actual scratch (i.e. something that you can feel with your nail). I think that there are a couple light spindle trails on the labels but you basically can’t see them unless you are inspecting under a magnifying light so I don’t think the album was ever played much at all.Overall clean, glossy condition. I would rate it at VG+ visually and, while I don’t really like to Play Grade, since I feel that can be even more contentious than Visual Grading, this LP plays pretty much perfect. Really only the very slightest bits of noise in between tracks and maybe a couple random soft tics, pretty much what you would expect from any vinyl. Put it this way, I have heard many Brand New albums that didn’t sound nearly as good. Again, I hesitate to put a Play Grade on it but, in my opinion it would rate at least VG++ (or EX if you like) and really feel it plays Near Mint. The Labels would also rate Near Mint.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
