Description
THE JELLY ROLL KINGS' "Blowin' The Juke Joint Down" released on EARWIG RECORDS (LPS-4901) in 1979, features FRANK FROST, BIG JACK JOHNSON, and SAM CARR. The legendary musicians have solid Delta pedigrees, with Frost learning harp from Sonny Boy Williamson, and Carr being the son of Robert Nighthawk. Jackson is younger and joined up in 1962, in time to play on Frost's first record - recorded for Sam Phillips - on the Phillips International label, as well as the Jewel album that followed that. The band was featured in the movie "Crossroads" and this is simply some off the greatest blues you could want to hear. Though not listed on the cover or label, there is a 6th song on Side 2 - Jelly Roll Blues. My copy has a note hand-written by label owner Michael Franks on the white inner sleeve, noting the missing song, as well as hand printing it on the label. (See Back Cover for songs, musicians and info).
The LP is in strong NEAR MINT condition with No audio scratches or marks. There are a couple of very light marks on Side 1/Song 1 that leave no noise.
The Cover is in strong VERY GOOD PLUS condition with very light wear to the front, back, seams, and corners, and no serious defects.
