JELLY ROLL MORTON A King Of The Piano (Brunswick B 1081) RARE 1945 US Original 78 MINT!
RARE original US 78 rpm shellac edition of Jelly Roll Morton`s famed four-track, double 10 inch selection "A King Of The Piano", on Brunswick Records (1945). With both records in absolutely perfect, unplayed condition, this is a once-in-a-lifetime find for any shellac or ragtime aficionado! Released as a collector`s item by Brunswick Records soon after the famed pianist`s untimely death in 1941, "A King Of The Piano" features four of Jelly Roll Morton`s most famous compositions: "King Porter Stomp", "The Pearls", "Sweetheart O`Mine" and "Fat Meat And Greens". All four titles are found here in their original versions, recorded in April 1926.
GRADING:
EX+ COVER. Unlaminated gatefold sleeve with a bit of storage wear. Please see the photos for details.
- Book-like cardboard housing the discs, with edge wear and slight rub-off, from long-time storage only.
- Both brown inner cardboard pockets -housing the discs- are absolutely as new, with no visible wear whatsoever.
- Also includes the original four-page booklet in near-perfect MINT condition, with intact staples and all!
MINT(-) RECORDS. By the looks of it, these records have never been played before: Pure perfection!
- The records are housed in brand-new surplus 10-inch inner sleeves for extra protection.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be compared with the more-often-than-not substandard vinyl on offer on eBay, this item is in honestly-graded Ex++ to MINT(-) condition. You will NOT find another original first pressing of "Pop Chronik" as nice as this one - especially at this bargain price: "True value for money" is the motto here!
