During the 50's and early 60's, the UK London label released demo copies of their catalogue as single sided discs and it's increasingly hard to find an original pairing of both the 'A' and 'B' side together. Eventually released as catalogue # HLS 8941, we have on offer the following 1959 pairing from JERRY LEE LEWIS;
DISC 1: "LET'S TALK ABOUT US" with Matrix # MSY 3663 that remains in excellent condition and plays superbly throughout with just a light trace of crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and with light sleeve rubs and the odd scuff. This copy has the 3-prong triangular centre intact and the label is clean other than a small blemish just under the London logo and with minimal spindle wear and virtually no ring wear along with a small annotation in the form of the running time. The catalogue number has been applied by way of a rubber stamp (see picture scan 1).
DISC 2: "THE BALLAD OF BILLY JOE" with Matrix # MSY 3664 that remains in excellent condition and plays perfectly throughout with a light trace of crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and quieter sections and with light sleeve rubs and the odd scuff. This copy has the solid centre and the label is very clean with light spindle wear and minimal ring wear along with a small annotation in the form of the running time. The catalogue number has been applied by way of a rubber stamp (see picture scan 2).
Paired with an original company sleeve that has a split to one seam.
