This is the UK 1st press of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice and starring Ian Gillan. This rare 1st press is complete with the original blue and purple Stereo MCA label, the original accompanying booklet, the original inner sleeves and rare laminated Robert Stace gatefold sleeve.
The records are in Very Good+ condition. The vinyl has a high gloss and the grooves show no sign of heavy play, there are just a few small marks. On playing the sound is rich and warm. It plays through well, with just a little occasional light noise. The MCA labels are completely clean. The colour is bold and the text is sharp. There is the slightest spindle wear. The records are complete with the original inner sleeves.
The booklet is in superb Excellent condition.
The rare laminated gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate has a superb mirrored shine, the colours are vivid and the text is sharp. the inside is extremely clean and bright and the pictures are sharp. There is just a little edge wear. The whole sleeve is very solid and the heavy box spine is firm with clear text.
