Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room. This week’s auctions feature my progressive and psychedelic records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, a very rare 1st German pressing of Jethro Tull – Aqualung on the PINK ISLAND with white “i”label, cat. no. 6339 035.
The record is in VG++ condition, there are some non-sounding hairlines and some non-sounding scuffs only. The labels are in VG+++ condition, there are a couple spindle marks only.
The textured gatefold cover is in EX minus condition, there is only some very slight wear in the bottom section on both front and back. Besides these mentioned tiny defects, this cover looks absolutely brilliant; no writing, no rips or tears or other unwanted damage.
This copy still has the original lyrics inner sleeve with the black and white printings of the cover, which is in EX condition. There is tear in the upper section of approx. 5 centimetres on the back and the bottom seam has a small split of approx. 5 centimetres, but that is all the damage there is.
This is a very rare and hard to find first German pressing of Jethro Tull’s Aqualung album on the PINK ISLAND label, especially in this condition. In all my years of collecting, I’ve never seen a mint copy of this album. Every copy I’ve seen has the scuffs and hairlines, so I’m thinking that this must be the quality of the vinyl. Although it looks as if the record been very used, all of these pressings play fantastic and this copy is no exception. This is a real must have for every Jethro Tull fan, or Island / Chrysalis collector! Happy Bidding!
