Description
Not a single release at all, but here I have the STUDIO ACETATE for the excellent song "FAT MAN" - as it was pressed up for play-test and review back in the 1960's. Beyond rare, I was informed by an 'authority' that this is one of only THREE that were printed - but that's not to say that the other two are still in existence, of course. Any acetate album-track from this early period, would have only been pressed up in England, in the studio, at the time of recording it! In this case, I think the disc was only made for in-studio reference rather than any kind of record company use - as they did not make a lable up for it. The 10" sleeve states it as 'unreleased', but I know the track did get a release on the LP 'STAND UP'. I believe there are a couple of sounds CONDITION; the vinyl grades NM-, plays and looks OUTSTANDING! It sounds GREAT - actually sparkling in fidelity, the percussion bright with the bells super-clear. The mandolin-strums jangle - the naked production gives a presence as close to the studio room as you will ever hear. In this condition, you won't get closer to an archival 'window' into 1968 when the band made the record! NO RESERVE and a LOW STARTING PRICE, so you the bidder can decide, and the winner WILL get to own it without meeting a high pre-determined seller price!!
