JETHRO TULL - STAND UP - FIRST PRESSING 1969 ALBUM ISLAND RECORDS, PINK "CIRCLE" ROUGH TEXTURED LABELS,  CAT NO: ILPS-9103  MATRIX NUMBERS A/B HEAVY FIRST PRESS VINYL IN POP-UP SLEEVE   THIS IS A VERY EARLY FIRST PRESSING OF THE CLASSIC STAND UP ALBUM IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.    THE VINYL IS IN BEAUTIFUL UNSPOILT SHAPE WITH A DEEP LUSTRE AND HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER. IT PLAYS WITHOUT ANY SKIPS, STICKS OR POPS AND - BEST OF ALL - VIRTUALLY NO CRACKLE! NO BACKGROUND NOISE OF ANY SIGNIFICANCE, EVEN ON THE RUN-INS AND BETWEEN TRACKS. (TO BE SUPER-CRITICAL THERE IS A SLIGHT RUSTLE ON THE RUN-IN TO "FAT MAN" BUT IT IS VERY FAINT AND I HAD TO PLAY IT SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE SURE I REALLY WAS HEARING IT) UNDER A VERY STRONG LIGHT IT IS POSSIBLE TO SEE SOME VERY LIGHT HAIRLINES HERE AND THERE, BUT THEY MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE TO THE PLAYBACK WHICH RATES AS EXCELLENT, A TESTAMENT TO THE QUALITY OF THE HEAVY VINYL PRESSINGS OF THE LATE SIXTIES.    THE COVER IS VERY GOOD++. THE INSIDE "POP UP" IS PERFECT, THE SPINE IS INTACT, RIGID AND READABLE, WITH JUST VERY MINOR SCUFFING. NO CREASING, MARKS OR WRITING - ONLY A FEW LIGHT AGE MARKS ON THE WHITE BACK COVER.    THE LABELS ARE THE ROUGH TEXTURE PINK ISLAND "ORANGE EYE" VERSIONS. SIDE ONE HAS A SMALL AREA OF DISCOLOURATION WHERE A STICKER HAS BEEN REMOVED - THE ONLY REAL BLEMISH ON THE ENTIRE ALBUM (SEE PHOTO). SIDE TWO LABEL IS EXCELLENT   THIS IS A REALLY IMPRESSIVE ORIGINAL COPY OF "STAND UP", ONE THAT MANY COLLECTORS WOULD RATE AS A FINAL UPGRADE. THERE ARE PROBABLY BETTER COPIES OUT THERE, BUT NOT MANY, AND VERY FEW OF THIS STANDARD COME ONTO THE MARKET. IT'S NOT MINT, BUT VERY FEW ARE, (AND THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THIS ANYMORE!)      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have been a record collector since the 1960's and have traded them for the last twenty years. I use the Record Collector Magazine grading system, and always play-grade items before listing. As a collector myself I know the importance of the detail, so please bid with confidence. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions before bidding. Good Luck!   +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++   Postage and packing: All records will be posted in brand new heavy duty mailers, or boxes for multiple items.   Postage rates: UK - 7" single - £1.60 for up to two, add 50p per extra single UK - 12" single/LP - £3.00, add £1.00 per extra 12" or album (note double albums count as two!)   Europe - 7" single £2.50/ 12" single or album £4.75   North America - 7" single £3.00/ 12" single or album £6.50   Rest of World - 7" single £3.50/ 12" single or album £7.50   Please contact us if you require International Signed For and/or insurance. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Gradings....... Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump. Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
