JETHRO TULL - STAND UP - FIRST PRESSING 1969 ALBUM ISLAND RECORDS, PINK "CIRCLE" ROUGH TEXTURED LABELS, CAT NO: ILPS-9103 MATRIX NUMBERS A/B HEAVY FIRST PRESS VINYL IN POP-UP SLEEVE THIS IS A VERY EARLY FIRST PRESSING OF THE CLASSIC STAND UP ALBUM IN VERY GOOD+ CONDITION. THE VINYL IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE WITH A DEEP LUSTRE AND HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER. IT PLAYS WITHOUT ANY SKIPS OR STICKS. THERE IS SOME VERY LIGHT CRACKLE ON THE RUN-INS AND BETWEEN SOME TRACKS BUT IT IS OF LITTLE SIGNIFICANCE, AND DOESN'T DETRACT AT ALL FROM THE OVERALL LISTENING EXPERIENCE. THERE IS ONE SLIGHT CLICK FOR ABOUT THREE REVOLUTIONS OF "REASON FOR WAITING", OTHERWISE IT PLAYS TO A STRONG VG+ STANDARD. UNDER A VERY STRONG LIGHT IT IS POSSIBLE TO SEE SOME VERY LIGHT HAIRLINES HERE AND THERE, BUT THEY MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE TO THE PLAYBACK, A TESTAMENT TO THE QUALITY OF THE HEAVY VINYL PRESSINGS OF THE LATE SIXTIES. THE COVER IS VERY GOOD++. THE INSIDE "POP UP" IS PERFECT, THE SPINE IS INTACT, RIGID AND READABLE, WITH JUST VERY MINOR SCUFFING. NO MARKS OR WRITING. THE WHITE BACK COVER IS CLEAN AND UNMARKED. THERE IS A SMALL SEAM SPLIT ON THE LOWER EDGE OF THE BACK COVER AND A SMALL TEAR ON THE BOTTOM OF THE OPENING EDGE, BUT THESE ARE NOT SERIOUS DEFECTS (SEE PHOTOS).THERE IS A SMALL SCUFF TO THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE FRONT COVER WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE A STICKER HAS BEEN REMOVED.
THE LABELS ARE THE ROUGH TEXTURE PINK ISLAND "ORANGE EYE" VERSIONS, BOTH IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO WRITING OR MARKS. INNER SLEEVE IS PLAIN WHITE PAPER. THERE ARE PROBABLY BETTER COPIES OUT THERE, BUT NOT MANY, AND VERY FEW OF THIS STANDARD COME ONTO THE MARKET. IT'S NOT MINT, BUT VERY FEW ARE, (AND THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THIS ANYMORE!) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have been a record collector since the 1960's and have traded them for the last twenty years. Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump. Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
