PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL (much heavier and more robust than later pressings) WHICH DELIVERS BEAUTIFUL, CRYSTAL CLEAR SOUND (one of best engineered albums in the Tull catalogue with stunning deep, rich audio)

Jethro Tull's first LP-length epic is a masterpiece in the annals of progressive rock, and one of the few works of its kind that still holds up decades later.
Mixing hard rock and English folk music with classical influences, set to stream-of-consciousness lyrics so dense with imagery that one might spend weeks pondering their meaning -- assuming one feels the need to do so -- the group created a dazzling tour de force, at once playful, profound, and challenging, without overwhelming the listener.
The original LP was the best-sounding, best-engineered record Tull had ever released, easily capturing the shifting dynamics between the soft all-acoustic passages and the electric rock crescendos surrounding them

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with barely a spindle mark to be seen - IN MY OPINION THIS COPY HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED
VINYL Visual: The surfaces still retain their original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN and are free from any scratches or even many hairlines but the outer edge of both sides have some markings from long period storage - like misting to the surface - this causes a little audio interference (see detailed assessment below)
VINYL Audio: OUTSTANDING - CRYSTAL CLEAR, DEEP, RICH, VIBRANT SOUND. There are NO scratches, NO sticks, NO jumps, just some light surface noise and some intermittent clicks (only a couple which rise above background level) mainly at the beginning of Side One caused by the aforementioned 'misting'. Otherwise, the LP plays very well throughout to a high standard with NO groove-wear and NO distortion. Must be graded VERY GOOD+ for audio because of the problem mentioned but the rest of the LP sounds EXCELLENT. Still in my opinion a very nice copy
NEWSPAPER SLEEVE: The original (EJ DAY) newspaper sleeve is very delicate it is virtually impossible to find it in decent condition anymore but this one has held up extremely well. There is a little 'feathering' to the top of the newspaper but otherwise, it is CLEAN and UNMARKED. The inside pages have yellowed a little with age but they are all COMPLETE, UNMARKED and UNDAMAGED and the crossword and the join-the-dots puzzles are not filled in. All text on the spine is also CLEAR and CRISP (which is pretty rare). Overall, an EXCELLENT example and one of the finest I have seen recently
