Description
Offered here is a 10 inch double-sided 78 rpm record by Jewish baritone Simon Paskel. Here he sings in Hebrew "Eppess noch" & "Elegy on the Triangle Fire Victims". The Triangle Fire was a horrific event of 1911 in New York when a building housing a garment sweatshop caught fire trapping the workers, most of whom were young immigrant women of whom many were Jewish. Almost 150 died either in the fire or by jumping from the upper floors to their death to escape the flames. It brought significant labor reform. This is a black Victor batwing label issue, Vic. 65416. Condition is E- to V+ with moderate wear and surface noise. Shipping is $4.50 in U.S.; foreign shipping determined at closing.
