Jimi Hendrix Experience PROMO STEREO 1st press “Are You Experienced” LP Track Records. STEREO 613001. This is the first issue on Track Records in stereo (not technically a re-issue), not from 1967, as there weren’t any in stereo then, but slightly later, when Track made an attempt to issue their LP catalogue properly, and got rid of the mid-price “Backtrack” stock, and previous 2-for-1 doubles. At least that’s what I think, based on my own buying back then. My guess would be 1973, maybe you know better. Although the label states “1967” this is the date of original issue for the catalogue number. Note that it says “Jimi Hendrix” above the title on the front cover. The 1967 copies did not have this. The main thing is, it’s a genuine promotional copy from Track, when this LP was finally released on its own, on Track, in stereo!! A//1 And B//1 matrix numbers from the first stereo pressing! The label states “Track Records”, “STEREO” and “POLYDOR INT. GmbH” also “Made In Gt. Britain”. The sleeve is not laminated, that means it is a matt cover, and has “Promotional Copy Not For Resale” stamped in gold on the back. Which makes it much, much rarer than the original mono release. What a great LP it is, too. Pristine stereo sound. A top copy of a very rare issue, in promo form. The sleeve is very flat with a nice matt sheen, and a few light handling creases and some light marks at the top left, hardly noticeable. Very, very nice and almost EX, certainly better than VG. The record appears played once, with perfect labels, and is Mint minus! You won’t see a better one!! It must be worth the opening bid of £99.00!!! Find another!! Check my other auctions and feedback.
