Guitarist magazine rated this debut by Jimi Hendrix the  most influential guitar album of all time. Rolling Stone has rated it the 5th best rock and roll record of all time. Recorded at three English studios in the winter of '66 and '67, engineered by Eddie Kramer, Dave Siddle and Mike Ross, produced by Chas Chandler, Are You Experienced was first recorded in mono for the new Track Records. Subsequent European pressings by Polydor were released in fake stereo from the mono mix. After Jimi's smash performance at Monterey Pop Reprise released the first American version in August 1967, with a limited number of pressings in the original mono and a new 'true' stereo mix. All subsequent cd releases were stereo versions, with one or two mono versions of songs ( Red House) not originally on the record. So what does this mean? It means that, unless you are a rock collector, you have probably never heard the incredible sound quality of the mono Are You Experienced. Jimi Hendrix's debut album changed the history of rock and roll and hearing the mono mix you really understand why. The difference in the listening experience is like night and day. This copy comes from my personal collection. Cover is shiny, no ring wear, two corners slightly bumped. VG +. There is a small area in the lower right corner that appears to be a spill.. It could likely be removed, but I'll leave that to the next owner. Thick vinyl is VG ++ with clean and crisp original tri-color labels (no ascap or bmi). A few microscopic imperfections or it would be NM.  In any case, bid with confidence, returns are accepted on this item without question. You will be responsible for all shipping costs.
