A little History:  

One of the most stunning debuts in rock history, and one of the definitive albums of the psychedelic era. On Are You Experienced?, Jimi synthesized various elements of the cutting edge of 1967 rock into music that sounded both futuristic and rooted in the best traditions of rock, blues, pop, and soul. It was his mind-boggling guitar work, of course, that got most of the ink, building upon the experiments of British innovators like Beck and Townshend to chart new sonic territories in feedback, distortion, and sheer volume. It wouldn't have meant much, however, without his excellent material, whether psychedelic frenzy ("Foxey Lady," "Manic Depression," "Purple Haze"), instrumental freak-out jams ("Third Stone From the Sun"), blues ("Red House," "Hey Joe"), or tender, poetic compositions ("The Wind Cries Mary") that demonstrated the breadth of his songwriting talents.

 A Little about the Seller:

 I am above all a music-fan, musician and long-time collector, and have been for the last 47 years. But it's time to scale down and start emptying some of that shelf space! Over the coming months, I will delve deep into the  cupboards and start to dig out some lost gems. These will include both LP's and singles. The only articles I will put up here on e-bay will be items of interest, which I consider to be in a decent 'acceptable' condition to most collectors (including myself - and I am as fussy as the next man or woman). All items will start with a low-price and no reserve (unless specifically stated).

Grading:

The vinyl is somewhere between GOOD and FAIR. I have played it and there is a deterioration in sound quality and a couple of deep scratches causing jumps. But not completely trashed ...

The front cover is EXCELLENT with laminate intact and no major imperfections apart from a little soft creasing. Back cover is only good with sellotape removal tear down opening.

Both labels are clean with no stickers or stains.

Great chance to buy a genuine collector's item in so-so condition.

Record grading system adapted from UK's 'Record Collector' Magazine - with extra grading of Near Mint (let's be honest - most records advertised as Mint on e-bay are actually Near Mint) and +/- symbols where applicable:

• Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
• Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear or creasing.
• Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable suface marks and some barely audible crackling. Normal wear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable.
• Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, with some distortion and light scratches. The cover displays some normal wear and tear.
• Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and contains scratches, surface noise and occasional jumps. The Cover will be torn, and/or stained and defaced.

There are no other major flaws on this item: i.e.

No stamps

No mold

No water damage

No razor marks

No warping

No glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

No cigarette burns on the cover

No bar codes
