1967 MONO RECORDING – LP

RARE AND IN VERY GOOD -EXCELLENT CONDITION

This is my own personal copy of this LP, which I purchased in 1967 and have not played for over 38 years (apart from playing it mid January this year), when I came across it in my record / vinyl collection tucked away, unplayed in my old record cabinet. Now, due to lack of space and pending retirement, I now want to (have to, so my wife has said) clear the decks for other things. Playing this record once again, brings back the memories of my youth and great times in the 60’s and the superb, meaningful style of Hendrix, who was one of the guys who really changed the World of Music back in the 60,s for me and many others.

This is the Original UK Mono pressing in very good condition. It has a front laminated sleeve. The record has matt black Track labels & comes with 1st press A1/ B1 matrix stampers on the heavy weight vinyl. A genuine UK original of this Classic debut LP of

The print on the LP shows

Spindle hole is showing little wear, as I have only played it a few times since new (20 times) and that was between 1967 – 1972 ish. There are a few “scuff” marks on the black part of the label around the spindle hole where I assume I have scuffed the label when putting the LP onto the turntable spindle.

There are a few scuffs on both sides of the vinyl and a couple of light surface scratches, but these are not deep and do not impair the Music.

The tracks all play OK with no problems that I can hear on my Sony System.

The Original Outer Record Sleeve

Outer front sleeve generally in good shiny gloss condition, but not perfect mint condition.

The top glued seam of the sleeve has lost its glue / stickiness (due to age of glue), but could be re- glued along the seam underlay, with modern adhesive to bring back to top condition.

The front part of the sleeve has a small bend in the RH bottom corner and the gloss on the bend it is a little blistered, really not that bad. The gloss is not punctured. There is also a small indentation halfway up and approx 25% in from the right hand side, (picture shows this) - very minor. A small few creases along the top of the front sleeve-the picture does just pick these up.

The back side of the Sleeve is in VG -Excellent condition.

The side spine of the sleeve is solid, but it’s squashed and the print is not really readable.

There also is the vinyl record inner cover that the LP comes in, but I don’t’ think it’s the original, as when I used to play it in my youth, an inner sleeve was just  a sleeve to put the record in !

I HAVE LISTED THE  NEGATIVES UNLIKE SOME SELLERS I HAVE BEEN WATCHING FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS,

SO NOW IT'S POSITIVE TIME.

As I’m not a professional record buff, then I’ve tried to fit to, as near to the condition of the LP as I can, from the data given below. The grading is my opinion only and as such I can not accept any responsibility if my grading is inaccurate.

MINT

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Un played should be Mint.

EXCELLENT

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

The Record (as it’s my copy) has been played only about 20 times maximum both sides since I purchased it , but the scuffs etc do not detract from the quality of the sound, which in my opinion is  very good.

I’m not sure how accurate my “condition ratings” are, but I think I have been honest and fair in the assessment. Not being a professional “Record Assessor“, I trust my description and photos are sufficient. THE RECORD / SLEEVE HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO LIGHT FOR MANY YEARS, SO THERE IS NO FADING TO THE COVER, VINYL OR THE BLACK AND SILVER WORDING ON THE LABEL.
