Hendrix had no original concept for the cover of this L:P and was dissapointed in the final outcome , he thought it was disrespectful to be depicted as Vishnu. He thought it would have been more appropiate to have art that reflected his american indian heritage. It was the first of several covers that he would be displeased with, but the bright psychedelic coloring made it stand out in stores and helped sales
