Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by, Jimi Hendrix, Band Of Gysies.
This was released by Track records in 1970 and has catalogue number 2406002. This is the 1st press with the 'puppet' sleeve. Please check the pictures for clarification.
Matrix: 2406 002 A1 2406 002 B1
Condition: The sleeve has some light discolour marks, a discreet pen mark can be seen on the rear top left corner. Buffing can be seen along the edges and on the front top right corner, looks at though a price sticker may of been removed leaving a peel mark. The spine text is still legible, no tears, bends or creases, complete and graded at VG.
This comes with its original 'patent' inner sleeve which has yellowing and pen writing.
Both labels look clean and near new, Under closer examination some spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole shows a touch of ring wear on side A, with side B showing very little and just a couple of tiny picking spots.
The vinyl retains its shine, Under a strong light numerous light & feather scratches can be seen, there are also several scuff marks. These marks are the kind of marks caused when replacing or removing the vinyl from the sleeve, with out an inner sleeve. I have test played this through both sides and took the following notes:
Side A- Strong audio with occasional background feckle heard, Towards the end of track one, when the music reduces to only just be heard, an audible noise can be heard on each rotation, this soon completely clears, as the music starts to climb in volume. Track two, a tick can be heard on each rotation at the very beginning, talking intro, of this track. This soon completely disapears, there are then two audible pops, like track one most of this track plays completely clear with an occasional quiet crackle heard. In the last three minutes or so of this side a tick can once more be heard, firstly 3 or 4 very quiet ones, then disapears, then returns quite loudly and again soon completely disapears leaving the side to play out fine.
Side B- Strong audio, this side certainly plays better than side A. With an occasional quiet crackle heard only until we reach midway through track three, when 4 or 5 ticks can be heard, one on each rotation. Otherwise this side plays fine with as stated only an occasional quiet crackle heard. This record certainly has not been well played, hence maintains its strong audio which plays with no distortion or fading and can be heard clearly above the feckling mentioned, except at the very end of side one where the tick is certainly as loud as the music for a few rotations.
As this stands the vinyl can only be graded at VG, side two plays closer to near mint than VG. Nice looking record which probably appears a little better than graded.
Better than a gap filler, exceptable sleeve, fine labels, not well played with strong audio.
