This is the earliest UK press of ‘Band Of Gypsys' by Jimi Hendrix. This press has the earliest matrix, the earliest flat edge heavy vinyl and flat matt Track labels. confirming that is the very earliest press. It is however complete with the repress sleeve. Released in 1970, this was Hendrix first album without his original band, replaced by Buddy Miles and Billy Cox.
The record is in Very Good+ condition. The heavy, flat edge vinyl is extremely glossy and shows only very light signs of play. Every track looks superb, there are just a few very light wispy hairlines. The flat matt Track label is very bold and completely clean, the silver text is sharp and there is light spindle wear.
The vinyl sits completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound is rich, vibrant and very clear. There are moments of the slightest background noise, but this is insignificant as it is extremely bold and sharp throughout.
The matt gatefold sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. The outer Hendrix image is superb, very clean, bright and unworn. The inside black is still solid but has a little edge and ring wear. The white text is sharp and clear. The whole sleeve is very solid.
