Description
This is a copy of the famous 'girl cover' of Jimi Hendrix's 'Electric Ladyland' LP, on the Track label released in Great Britain in 1968. The discs play well with some minor background noise. Disc A/D has a few fine scratches on each side and I would grade it VG+, while disc B/C has a fine scratch or two on each side and I would grade it Vg++. The back ground noise is not bad, and I enjoyed listening to the records several times. There are a couple minor pops, not loud, and the background noise is most noticeable in between tracks. There are no loud pops or repeating clicks or skips. The all important cover has some wrinkles, small scuffs on the edges, and what I would describe as 'stretch marks'. There is a slight mildew odor to the cover. This is really slight, and it has faded since I bought the record two weeks ago. The record came from a roll off storage container where it had been stored for a long time. The owner died and by the time the estate sale happened there was a mildew problem in the container. This record has a faint mildew odor, and I am sure it will fade away completely in time. I sell lots of records, so I deal with this issue all the time, and this LP isn't bad at all as far as the odor is concerned, but some people are hyper sensitive to mildew odors, so I want to be very frank about it. The wrinkles, scuffs and 'stretch marks' are all photographed. Study the full photos carefully, because I didn't do a detail photo for a couple of obvious 'stretch marks' that are visible on the full views. I posted all the photos eBay will allow. I believe the 'stretch marks' are weaknesses in the laminated glossy cover where it has slight wrinkles. These are much more visible under the floodlights I use for the photos. These floodlights also make the black label look charcoal gray. The hinge inside the gatefold has bad wrinkles, and this is photographed. I'm not sure if this is a first state pressing, but I think it is an early one, so I have included photos of some of the matrix numbers. Some of the stamped numbers are blurred and hard to read. As you can see in the photos, there is some ring wear on the cover, but there are no splits or tears. This is a very critical description of a record I hate to part with. I want to make sure the winner isn't disappointed when they receive it. USA only. NO BUY IT NOW.
