Hendrix fans will understand the importance and meaning of these 1st pressing matrix numbers

This is a 1968 UK pressing of Electric Ladyland with the fully laminated 'naked ladies' Ernest J Day 1st pressing gatefold cover. 

Cover: E J Day fully laminated gatefold cover with the blue text on the inner gatefold and the larger photos of Mitch & Noel. This is the earliest possible pressing with the Track 613008/9 catalogue number inside the gatefold. The blue text pressings were difficult to read and were withdrawn shortly after release and replaced with white text which was easier to read. The later pressings also reduced the size of the Noel and Mitch photos.

No writings/doodles or stickers. The front and inside has some laminate creasing and the spine is worn and been taped up for protection. There is some wear to the edges. Rates as very good+ for a 41 year old cover.  

Vinyl: Not play graded but has a nice sheen and looks to be VG+. Would benefit from a clean as it has not been played for 30 years. 

Labels:  Has Sides A&D on one LP and sides B&C on the other. Inverted catalogue numbers on left hand side above the regular catalogue number - see scan - only 1st pressings had this.  

Two of the labels are Excellent but the other two (A&C) have had 'Factory Sample - Not For Sale' stickers removed by the previous owner and these have left a small area of scuffing - see scan. Unfortunately, the factory sample stickers themselves have long been lost.

Gradings.......

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and  more significant scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
