A FANTASTIC debut recording by any standard, and it thrust a willing guitar-slinger onto the World stage like a rocket!
Yeah Jimi, 'come back and buy this town, put it all in your shoe', because he did that when he took his own music to the masses, spurred on by enthusiasm from Chas Chandler his enthralled manager.
Previously James Marshall had been a bit player with Little Richard (who fired him in disgust for being flamboyant!) and The Isley Brothers (who called him, like-ably, 'The Creeper' for wandering the stage while they twirled). It may have just introduced a new artist to Europe at the time, but really it was the projection from Jimi's personality live onstage, his clothing and confident ability to blow minds with his wild guitarwork, that was so convincing. His death brought on legend, but those musicians that knew of him already bowed incredulously in reverence to his astounding ability to play so fluidly and imaginatively.
This was the first 'proof' on the album shelves!
A rare French edition of the LP, and a nice copy here in lovely playing condition.
The vinyl is MINT, spotless, full sheen and sounding great.
