Description
Up for bid here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition) by The Jimi Hendrix Experience called "Are You Experienced" and is an ORIGINAL 1967 UK MONO 1st pressing on the 1st press track label. THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!! THIS WAS JIMI HENDRIX'S 1ST AND RAREST LP AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE. THIS LEGENDARY LP IS ONE OF THE MOST SAUGHT AFTER LPS OF ALL TIMES AND IS EXREMELY TOUGH TO LOCATE AS A GENUINE UK MONO 1ST PRESSING TODAY. BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS THE EARLIEST AND RAREST 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE! WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST DUE FOR RELEASE-THE 1ST BATCH OF COVERS (ONLY AROUND 500 COPIES AT THE VERY MOST) WAS SENT TO THE FACTORY BY "E.J.DAY" FOR APPROVAL. HOWEVER, IT WAS DECIDED THAT THESE HAD A FAR TOO DARK "BLACK" COVER BACK, AND IT WAS IMMEDIATELY CHANGED ON ALL LATER COPIES TO THE COMMON "GREY BACKED" COPIES THAT FOLLOWED. YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN MY VERY CLEAR COMPARISON PICTURE. ON THE LEFT IS THE EARLIEST AND RAREST 1ST PRESSING USING JET BLACK INK FOR THE COVER BACK PRINT. ON THE RIGHT IN THE PICTURE, IS THE COMMON COVER WITH THE USUAL "GREY" PRINTING. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THIS ISN'T JUST A CASE OF PRINTING TOO DARK, YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THE INK IS COMPETELY DIFFERENT, USING BLACK INK FOR PRINTING INSTEAD OF THE LATER GREY. THIS MAKES THIS LP EXTREMELY RARE INDEED! QUITE LITERALLY ONLY THE FIRST FEW HUNDRED COPIES (NO MORE THAN 500) WERE EVER MADE LIKE THIS (WITH THE ULTRA RARE BLACK BACKED COVER) WITH ALL LATER ONES HAVING COMMON GREY BACKED COVERS INSTEAD.
The ULTRA RARE earliest 1st press "E.J.Day" Laminated "Patents Pending" MONO BLACK BACKED Cover is in BRILLIANT condition. The cover has NO edge wear, barely any spinal ware, no splits, only very slight corner wear, and only few light creases, very shiny laminate and no writing. Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in brilliant condition with no grubbiness, barely any rubbing at all (apart from the usual slight touch at the very top), no yellowing, only a very faint wear trace in the top right corner and no writing. The cover must grade VERY GOOD++ if not better.
The ORIGINAL 1st press Track labels are in Excellent+ condition with NO wear, No writing, and only a few light spindle marks.
The ORIGINAL MONO 1st press vinyl is in SUBERB condition. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS IT'S ORIGINAL JUST PRESSED LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW. There are NO scratches and just a few light hairlines and a few light paper scuffs all of which are completely NON sounding. The sound quality is outstanding with NO distortion and NO groovewear either. There are just 2 pops on side 1 and some light crackle at the beginning of the first track on side 2 other than that the vinyl grades EXCELLENT+.
Don't pass up the opportunity to own this EARLIEST AND RAREST 1st pressing ever made. Who knows when one of these will turn up for sale again (ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION), after all how many of these can be in existence still today.
