Description

JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE "THE L.A. FORUM CONCERT" U.K. double LP (Radioactive) RR2LP052 M-/M.  Entire show from April 26, 1969. Limited numbered edition #0653/3000.

Excellent sound quality on one of the final shows from the original 3 piece Jimi Hendrix Experience with Mitch Mitchell on drums, Noel Redding on bass & back-up vocals & of course, Jim Hendrix on lead vocals & guitar extraordinaire. Prepared for possible release at the time by Eddie Kramer & Jimi himself. The tapes of this concert were found amongst the estate of  manager Mike Jeffery shortly after his mysterious death in a plane crash in 1973. The concert itself finds Jimi in fine form despite several verbal encounters with the audience on such crowd favorites as "Purple Haze", "I Don't Live Today", an early pre-Woodstock rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" & the 11:27 minute extended version of "Spanish Castle Magic". Unusual selections are "Tax Free"- a jazzy Swedish prog rock number by Bo Hansson & the short interlude of Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love" interspersed in the middle of the 15 minute show closer "Voodoo Chile". Released on Radioactive Records- the label also responsible for the 3 essential volumes of Jimi's "Studio Outtakes". These tapes were eventually acquired by Experience Hendrix & recently released in the same order & mix but this is the original 1980s version of a historic show not to be missed.

Laminated cover has a few slight creases  but still looks nearly new. Records w/yellow & black Radioactive labels looks great w/no scratches or scuffs & have seen very little (if any) play. Excellent professional sound quality.
