THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE “Axis: Bold as Love” original tri-colored label!

1967/Cdn/Reprise RS 6281…..here’s a nice and very rare original Canadian pressing with the old tri-color steamboat labels. The top opening gatefold cover is in at least very strong VG++ condition with a touch of corner wear and very slight shelf wear on a just few high spots on the cover, solid and clean with no splits or delete! The thick vinyl is in glossy VG+ condition with a some light inaudible scuffs/scratches. The record plays extremely well with very light crackle at cue and between most tracks, not much other noise. I played the record from start to finish with next to no distractions and excellent clean fidelity! The labels are clean with a couple of light spindle marks. A nice copy here of this rare lp! Axis: Bold as Love is the second studio album by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Under pressure from their record company to follow-up the successful debut of their May 1967 album Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold as Love was released on Track Records in the UK in December 1967. It reached #5 in the UK and later, #3 in the US.

The album was recorded to fulfill the band's contract, which stated that they must produce two albums in 1967. Even so, it was not released in the USA until 1968 due to fears that it might disturb the sales of the first album. Bassist Noel Redding has noted that this was his favourite of the three Experience albums. He plays eight string bass on some tracks.

Just before the album's completion, Hendrix left the master tapes of side 1 in a taxi. They were never found again, and thus the A-side had to be mixed again quickly.

MINT: as stated with no defects

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: between VG++ and M- , still very collectable, visually and sonicly clean.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches that should not cause any problems to the listening enjoyment. I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
