• Vinyl Grade: VG+  play graded *although there are numerous light spindle marks on this copy, there were very few noise disturbances throughout playback. light background surface was at a minimum, intermittent and never overpowering, and close to half of the tracks played at higher end of VG+ scale. Specific flaws include a few light ticks at beginning of Voodoo Chile (slight return), a couple of extremely light ticks on Long Hot Summer Night, and a spindle mark created some light portions of background ticks on 1983; condition of labels are as seen in photos
• Cover Grade: VG+  *Gatefold jacket with nude women photo, designed by David King and photographed by David Montgomery, is in average condition for this Track issue, with some common lamination issues such as creasing and bubbling (although no de-lamination of jacket). There is very little seam wear except only at top center front, where seam is open @1-2" only. Other than that there is some light wear at corners and a couple tiny chips on spine. The 'naked ladies' photo on the UK cover caused controversy, with some outlets refusing to display it, and often sold 'brown bagged'.
• Discography Notes: The UK issue was mastered, produced & distributed for Track by Polydor with excellent 'hi-fidelity' qualities, far superior to the U.S. issue on Reprise. This pressing can be identified as an early Track Record release ( although exact year of release is unknown), meeting the following criteria: First, early UK issues are auto-coupled, as Disc 1;Sides A/D & Disc 2;Sides B/C. Second, the gatefold cover is 'hi-gloss' laminated inside & out, designed by David King. It is a one-piece front/back spread, with 'naked ladies' photo by David Montgomery, glued to a one-piece left/right inside spread. The third and most important factor of the early Track covers is the inside spread and its relationship to vinyl content, of which there are five different versions. This release is the fourth Track version, with all white text and the print credit centered. This is a rarer early cover version with the Hendrix picture on the left instead of the right, when opened. The 2 sepia images of Redding & Mitchell are significantly reduced in size compared to the first three versions, and surrounded by the black background with the white 'Track' logo at bottom.                                                                                GRADING STANDARDS: 

Mint (M): A Mint record and cover must both appear to be absolutely perfect in every way. For this reason the grade is seldom used, even with sealed albums where the record itself can only be assumed to be mint.
Near Mint (NM): Otherwise Mint, a nearly perfect record or jacket will have only one or two minor flaws. Any visual mark on the record will be play-graded to confirm it does not affect the quality of play. Any specific flaws in either the record or jacket will be noted in the item description.
Excellent (EX) or (VG++): Still very close to being nearly perfect, an excellent record or jacket will have a minimum of audible or visual imperfections. Any visual mark on the record will be play-graded to confirm whether it affects the quality of play, and any noise disturbance will be noted in the item description.  Covers will show only minor signs of wear or age, with any blem also being noted in the item details.
Very Good Plus (VG+): The vinyl is considered a good playable copy that may display more signs of wear than a VG++ grade, but one's overall listening experience will still be positive. Jackets may also display more signs of wear or aging, with any specific flaws in either the record or jacket being noted in the item description.
Very Good (VG): Many of the defects seen in a VG+ record or jacket will be more pronounced on a VG album. The vinyl displays more visual blems, and even though surface noise is evident during play, it will still not overpower the music. Jackets will also have more numerous visual blems. All flaws will be noted in the item description. 
Good (G): A record in good condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without any repeating "skips", although it will have more severe audible surface noise and scratches than a VG record. Jackets will also have even more pronounced defects than a VG cover. This grade is usually reserved for impossibly rare records that are otherwise unattainable.
