All were very carefully stored and have minimal handling wear.

THE VERY FIRST PRESSING ON THE POLYDOR LABEL
AUGUST 1971

In 1971 Polydor took over the complete Jimi Hendrix Catalogue from Track Records to release on their Red, Black & White Label.

Electric Ladyland was the first of the 1960's titles and these very first made were interconnected with the Track Records, which in August 1971, was less than 3 years since the November 1968 Track release.
Polydor obviously pressed all Track's records using the same pressing plates from the last Track issues, so there was not a direct severance from the 1968 Track first pressings.
The sound engineer just hand scribed the "new" Polydor catalogue number/matrix prefix , in front of the complete original Track catalogue number/matrix prefix on all 4 sides, then hand crossed out Track's 613008/613009 leaving all the standard Polydor suffix information and symbols.
An interesting bit of history catalogueing as it does the "Missing Link" from Track to Polydor.

The covers on these rare "Missing Links" are exactly the same as the 1969-mid-1971 in quality with that extra dark brown tone to the outside's famous "nude ladies" artwork as well as the deluxe thick lamination on the outside and the inside. They were also printed by EJ Day without a record logo on the spine or anywhere on the outside of the Track covers. On the bottom edge of the inside's right hand change panel only, the Track logo and catalogue number was replaced for Polydor's. That was the only difference between this cover and the post late 1968 interior design.

The inner sleeves authenticate the year of the vinyl pressing as one is dated 10/70 and the other 11/71.
Unsplit these inner sleeves have just minimal natural ageing and record related light creases.
To preserve these, I have placed them within the cover and have used new inner white sleeves as well as card sleeves to preserve the originals.
Graded Excellent/Near Mint.

The gatefold cover is strictly the very first Polydor pressing only.

Printed by "EJ Day Group, London & Bedford.
Immediately following covers were printed by "Howard Printers of Slough, England Ltd."
This confirms this as the 1st issue Polydor cover.
There is the merest hint of ringwear and light surface marks but otherwise this is a stunning example. Beautiful straight spine and no dings to corners. Beautiful glossy laminate front/back/within.
This truly beautiful cover definitely qualifies as NEAR MINT Condition.  

Regarding condition of the LP's single spindle marks suggest one play only so will go with MINT-.

This is a stunning copy and when it came into my posession I simply vaulted it.

I am including with this auction a lovely beautiful copy of the famous Voodoo Chile single, featuring Voodoo Chile to the A Side and Hey Joe/Watchtower to the B Side.
An appropriate legend of a single to store within this beautiful landmark album.
