No Such Animal


Jimi Hendrix made several records before being 'discovered' with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. He recorded with the Isley Brothers and Little Richard, with Curtis Knight and Lonnie Youngblood. This single of "No Such Animal" is from the Curtis Knight & The Squire days of 1965 and is a real guitar showcase.

This is a straight up instrumental, and Jimi's playing with no effects (they weren't invented yet!) so it's a different, leaner sound than what you're used to.

This session tape must have been an unissued track that was discovered after Jimi was famous and issued by Audio Fidelity Records.
