The puppets on this rare sleeve are of Brian Jones, John Peel, Bob Dylan and of course Jimi himself. The matrix numbers are as follows Side1 2406002 A 1 & Side2 2406002 B=1. The tracks are as follows Side1 1) Who Knows ( 9:34) 2) Machine Gun (12:38) Side2 1) Changes (5:11) 2) Power Of Soul (6:55) 3) Message To Love (5:24) 4) We Gotta Live Together (5:51).

Jimi is joined by Buddy Miles & Billy Cox in the making of this album which was recorded ‘Live’ at Fillmore East New York.

Band of Gypsies is a tremendously organic, moody creature to invite into the ears. Going from intense, climactic moments of intensity to distorted, minimal suspense, Gypsies runs the gamut far, far away from Jimi's more wry, gritty material like "Hey Joe" or "Highway Chile." As if the social tumult of racial strife and an unwilling war had been swallowed by Jimi's guitar and released again by his fingertips, Gypsies' atmosphere is introspective, regretful, frustrated, and angry. The cries of protest from a man whose words were his music.

Perhaps the most fantastic aspect of this record is the crowd. Though the tempo often changes to silence only excepting a lightly tapped hi-hat or tremblingly picked guitar, the silence in the rapt Fillmore East captures the power of the performance. If silence is golden, the crowd has paid Jimi, Buddy and Billy the highest ransom to express themselves to the fullest, and the favor is returned.

The record labels are in stunning condition (see pictures) with no wear, writing & just a few light spindle marks. This superb Hendrix album is pressed on thick heavy duty vinyl and still retains it’s just pressed look with a very shinny lustre. The vinyl plays superb crisp & clean with no pops, crackles or jumps there is also no groove wear or distortion only some very light paper scuffs. The vinyl is graded Excellent. Simply Awesome.

The Rare ‘Puppet’ sleeve still retains its colour brightness, the spine is in Excellent Condition & retains its 1 inch pinch to the top & bottom. The opening edge is straight & firm with no feathering, the four corners have barley any wear. The cover has no ring wear only 1” x ½ “ white patch where a sticker has been removed again the cover must be graded Excellent.
